What Treatment for shed cladding

Hi all getting the cladding for my shed at the weekend, it's from the local sawmill and comes untreated.
What's the best treatment to put on it ? I will obviously be treating it before I put the cladding on but am confused as to what treatment or preservative I need to put on it.
I am after a clear finish as I'm not keen on the various

I used Blackfriars clear preservative on my cladding but it was already tantalised - you probably need to say what type of wood you are planning to use before you can get definitive advice.

Make sure you soak all the cut ends no matter what you use - that's were the rot'll start.
