Hi All,

New to the forum.

Can anyone please tell me what this tool is called, and also (if possible) where would you go about getting another one...?

My younger brother has just gotten into woodworking in a big way and has broken this tool that was lent to him which was years old... He has promised to replace it. But doesn't know where to start looking...

Can anyone help? Even just the name of it will help or name of manufacturer. At least it'll give an idea where to start searching.

Many thanks, Ben :)

There is a range of clamps, using standard steel pipe, made by Pony Tools in the USA and not very common over here. They have a website at ponytools.com but it's not displaying any pictures for me at the moment. It might be worth a look around.

If it's not one of theirs and they don't have an equivalent you could probably achieve the same effect with a bit of scrap wood and some ordinary g-cramps.

hello Ben,
You may be able to get the broken part mended by brazing. Take it to an engineering shop and get their advice on repair options.
Geoff.

OP will struggle to get parts from Pony as acording to CHris Schwatz they have suspended operations. https://blog.lostartpress.com/2016/05/30/pony-tools-suspends-operations/

Ah, that explains the broken website. Quite a challenge if it is one of theirs. And possibly quite old if they started in 1903.
