Ferrets - how could I have forgotten. You get immune to the smell it gets into the clothes, becomes pleasantly musky - other people think you stink! Also Kursaal!!!!! oh yesterday leave me alone.
 
The petrol fume laced exhaust smell of ‘70s sporty cars with their twin SU or Weber carbs.
You don’t notice it’s no there any more until a classic car comes past.
 
In the early 70's I was an avid motorsport fan and a group of us used to frequently go to nearby Brands Hatch race track - the smell of the fuel additives they used back then is particularly memorable - I have no idea what they were but on the rare occasions I have been to race events recently it most certainly is missing and no doubt banned because of health risk, pollution and the like..
