I think they had to restart because there was still time left after the penalty so they had to restart the game and then the game can be ended at the next breakdown of play. Scotland should have kicked off it or near the touch line to put the ball out.

How does that work.........kick off/ restart after the end of the 80 minutes?
I was a bit perplexed by that too - but maybe the ref. desired to get out of Wales alive...

Of course he would have got out alive! We're not savages!
Mind you, he might have been singing boy soprano by then of course!

Me too !!!

Still we were winning for around 81 minutes of the match which is pretty much a novelty for us these days, and probably a moral victory of some sort too

Fair do's to Wales though, an amazing last quarter.

Cheers, Paul :D

I think Wales shoulda been disqualified - 16 men on the pitch.... :D

Ref was a little biased to say the least.. :D

Still.... at least they lost to the ENGLISH heheheh...

Bear with me here as I dredge my memory...

Was it Wales last year where the ref said "tho has't time for a lineout if tho doth kick for touch"
The fly half booted the ball into the corner and the dastardly ref then blew his whistle for full time, not allowing the lineout?

The moral of the tale would be easier to find if I could remember what the teams were, and when/if it occurred. But I guess my sentiment is that sometimes the decisions go for you, sometimes against.

Considering where you are living, I suggest that you quickly buy a wig and a beard and find yourself a "safe house"!

This is wrong of him in so many ways, but getting legless, nicking a golf buggy and driving it the wrong way up a motorway to get a greasy breakfast - well, it's doing it wrong in a quite magnificent style..

story

Unless he was injured (which he didn't appear to be) I'm still struggling to understand why Scotland took Dan Parks off with 2 1/2 minutes to go after he'd just given a masterclass on how to play stand-off in a team permanently on the back foot. Then the silly person Godman gets himself sent off, leaving them without a specialist restart kicker. After the Welsh penalty, all the Scots had to do was kick it dead and for extra insurance make sure that it was as far down the pitch as possible - end of game and a well earned draw. In the end they managed to lose through their own ineptness.

To get breakfast (at Junction 33), he would have to go east with the traffic from Hensol (Wales HQ) close to Junction 34. Pretty dull though Dick either way. The total lack of sympathy on our Welsh rugby TV program, Scrum V, said it all.

The best last ten minutes I've ever seen. :)

I feel sorry for Scotland :)

Last 2 minutes of 2003 World Cup?

There again that was totally clinical as opposed to the Welsh flash and dash.

AND, I never felt sorry for Orstrilia for even a millisecond!

I don't think I've ever been as angry as I was on Saturday afternoon. How could a team manage to lose 17 points in 5 minutes? One answer, Scott Lawson who was yellow carded with 7 minutes to go. At that stage Wales had all the possesion but Scotland were dealing with them as they had done all day - easily. Lawson should never play for Scotland again. I still haven't seen the Williams try as I left the room after Scotland decided not to kick it dead even after the ref said 'last play'. Supposedly Cusiter said they thought they could still win and wanted to the ball in play - unbelievable.

As you can tell I'm not over this and I don't think the Scotland team will be for quite some time to come.

Well done Wales for winning - Shane Williams is a legend.

Ian
