Made some of these today and this one is for my sisters wedding.
There are magnets that hold the sliding dovetails together.

That is lovely, very nice sliding dovetail.

So, is this constructed out of one solid piece of Oak? Lid cut out, and then sliding dovetail cut and reversed? Or is the sliding dovetail a seperate piece of wood from the body?

Thanks guys. I made enough for four boxes.
body
The body was cut with a spindle moulder in a length of 600mm on to the router with dove tail cutter for the dove tail.

Lid
Machined to thickness and slightly over for width then dovetail cutter in router.

vertical slide
same as lid

It a pretty quick project. The hard bit is the magnets. They have to be perfect or it doesnt sit properly
You can use apposing poles to create a great clicking action. Its hard to explain. perhaps I will do a video as the action is really nice
