I'm after an electronic weather station. Something with wind and rain would be good. I bought one years ago for my dad (from maplin) and it was nothing but hassle. It kept losing signal and eating batteries.
Any recommendations for a reliable unit please ? I don't want to be paying any more than I need to, perhaps £100ish?

I have had a Davis Vantage Vue now for several years. This is the beasty, It is a really good bit of kit but it may be a bit rich for your budget?

I am still learning just what it shows
Thankyou. It's quite a bit more than I was hoping to spend. It does sound like a well made piece of kit and the link suggests repairs are available, so it shouldn't be just a throw away unit. I'll wait to see if any cheaper weather stations get a mention.
Its probably a bit like my ear muffs. I paid £350 and the last ones were still going after more than 10 years. That's 35 quid a year for something decent and reliable. Umm...

Origan Scientific is another option? https://store.oregonscientific.com/uk/c ... creen.html

They do several models and although I went away from them after I had a problem they are good. Shame about the service I didn't get from them, but that was after several years of use.
I'll have a look and see what they've got. It does seem yours is a more professional unit compared to the cheaper ones.
