Hello all

New to the forum so was wanting to ask for some advice. I am going to make some pull out storage for under a stair case. Was going to use full extension runners at the bottom but was wanting to know if i would need to use an extra runner at the top centre on the taller pull out sections to keep the unit running smoother

Thanks

Hello

The customer said she did not want wheels on the bottom because she has a wooden floor and the whels may mark the floor over time. So i was going to use two full extension runners at the bottom and a central one at the top to keep it running smoothly when it is pulled out, hopefully.

Thanks

Is there just one pulley-outy-thingy or more than one. It sounds like there's just one. It would depend on the overall weight of whatever these "drawers/units are" when full, plus maybe the height of them. There's also runners and runners. Some are much better than others. I've just had to rebuild a pull-out unit for a friend, where the runner also supported the front (sideless unit), it was totally under-specified for the job in hand. Good suppliers should give the ratings for the weight and extension possible. Once you've worked that out you could get away with one set of runners (have you ever seen a morgue drawer?). Do you know what she intends to put in it? Whatever she says, double or triple this, remembering to include the weight of the unit(s) as well.
