Unable to listen live to BBC radio

...on both Safari and Chrome. Used to work but not now. Firefox is fine.

I did see some message briefly appear talking about a plug-in. Has the BBC changed things as it all used to be hunky-dory.

FM works fine for me! (Arcam Alpha tuner, one of the few HiFi tuners with AM, LW as well as FM)

Safari and Chrome working fine here with BBC 'listen live' - OSX and iOS. Do you have any plug-ins disabled?

I killed all my plug-ins apart from Flash.

Have discovered that my Chrome hadn't been auto-updating and was on v27! Now on v 31 and now BBC working fine.

Think that my version of Safari is no longer supported (v5) which is a great shame as it is the last version on 10.6.8 and I need 10.6.8 for some legacy programs (at least that is what I keep telling myself). Maybe I need to bite the bullet and simply run the legacy stuff on the old MacPro.

Safari. More curiosity than anything constructive though, I've never used a mac or Safari myself.

Proven by my re-reading and deducing you're referring to the OS version I think....

Hmm - BBC radio works just fine on my Mac running OSX 10.4.11 and Safari version 4.1.3. Video doesn't, but that is a flash version problem (the version the BBC wants is not available for MacOSX 10.4.11).

BBC Radio and Video both work fine on my laptop running OSX 10.6.8 and Safari 5.0.5

This is truly bizarre. I can watch live TV on the BBC but you cannot. You can listen to live radio on the BBC but I cannot! I can listen to past radio programmes on iPlayer without any problem. Just the live feed.

Perhaps they read your thread on what the TV license gets spent on & are playing silly buggers with you to get their own back :lol: :lol:
