Hi all,

I have an (oldish) TS-200 table saw from Axminster. Served me well for years.
Recently I’ve become unable to tilt the blade. It’s stuck at 90 degree to the table surface (luckily exactly right angle).

The wheel on the side spins, but seems to slip.

Has anyone had this issue, and managed to solve it?

First thing would be to clean up and lube all the gear teeth and threads for both up and down as well as tilt movement. Caked on dust can really bind things up. A stiff bristle brush to move caked on gunk and if you have compressed air then a final blow with that. Then while you are in there check that wheels are tight on rods and that threads engage with the teeth. On really stuck ones the rods can deflect so the teeth no longer engage. Some pics of the inside gearing would help. I have to confess I dont clean mine often enough but any time I feel one of the wheels becoming tight its cleaning time.
Regards
John
