Iv,e been looking for different size grit sleeves to fit my Triton Oscillating Spindle Bobbin Sander do you know if they do a 400 or 600 grit i cant find any on flee bay
Mock

i haven't used a bobbin sander, but won't such a fine grit scorch the timber?

i put a 320g belt on my pro edge belt sander and tried to smooth a bit of timber using it. it scorched it quicker than i could keep it moving

It looks like the sleeves are 80, 150, and 240 grit only, as you say there's no mention of any other grits available.
Look at the specs that came with you're new machine, or get in touch with the supplier.
I would have thought that much finer grit wouldn't last long and clog and burn
Be careful buying cheaper sleeves, you will probably find, as I did, that the cheaper drums and belts aren't spliced together too well and there's a distinct "knock" when it comes around, as it is raised at the joint.
You may be able to live with it, gets on my wick after a while!

Thank,s for all the replies i was thinking of using the bobbing sander with 400 to 600 grit to finish the inside of my bandsaw boxes what do you think ? And for what wood i can,t say as when i get a little ply pine or anything thing i just lamanite them together at the moment i have some Iroko

I would have thought the 150 would be sufficient for the bare wood.I seldom use finer until a finish is applied.

You could always make your own by wrapping them around the spindle. I have the same sander (different colour but the same) not tried a finer grit though.
