Hi folks newbie here so please excuse my ignorance, but have just started turning and bought a Clarke CWL325v mini lathe. However, the spec that it came with omits the size of the tapered tailstock centre spindle, which is annoying as I’d like to slot a drill-chuck into the tail to drill out some pieces🤨
I’ve measured the tailstock spindle taper at 41mm length, and the taper is 29mm running down to 12mm. What size Chuck and MT shaft would I need? Can anyone help please? Many thanks!

Quick rule of thumb - if the thick end of the MT (or hole in spindle) is around the thickness of your little finger, it's 1MT, if it's around the thickness of your thumb, it's 2MT.

Disclaimer - If you have particularly thick little fingers or thin thumbs you may find this doesn't work for you! :D
Second disclaimer - if you get your thumb stuck in your spindle, don't blame me! :p
