Hi , I have about a grand to spend on a panel saw. I have been looking the Record Power TS250 C 10" and the Charnwood W660. Does anyone have any experience with these brands? I am tempted by the Record Power and if people have had good experience with them then I might buy one of their planer thicknessers as well.

Cheers.

Been looking at their P/T and it looks good. The 5 year guarantee helps to convince me that they stand by their equipmet even though it is made elsewhere. That's if its for private use, not commercial I believe

Hi

Yes the TS250 is a good enough general table saw, I bought one 2nd hand after selling my Felder, nowhere near the same quality, but also nowhere near the same price, but I needed something that would fit into a single garage to finish a few jobs.

It can be fitted with a 315mm dia saw blade as sales literature states, but be aware - With a 315 blade fitted you WILL NOT be able to lower the blade beneath the table surface, it will catch on a lug in the casting, plus the mechanism doesn't allow it.

Furthermore the extension table is supported by legs that go down to the ground making moving the machine around awkward. It should have a support leg that goes diagonally down to the main table saw base (mine had a homemade one)
