(As the wiser heads will be aware, there is a direct relationship between the coming years workshop budget and the level of being impressed on the birthday!)

Have a look at a website life "not on the high street" which my long haired domestic controller seems to fawn over and see what you could replicate. In fairness there are some nice ideas even if most of it is over-priced.

I'll second having a browse of Not on the High Street. Replicated something from their last year, it went down a treat and cost about a tenth of what they are charging.

If no scroll saw you could do it by hand with a fret saw.
