I want to lay 7 stone quarry tiles under some kitchen/utility units, dishwasher & W/M.
Is there a reason that I cant use ordinary cement mix on to a concrete floor (which is uneven) ?

I'm no expert, DW, but have been taught to use this:

Wickes and B&Q as well as most builders supplies keep it.

True Jim, self levelling compound will do what it says and even out small (up to about 1/4") irregularities in the floor, but a suitable, probably cement based, adhesive will then be needed on which to lay the stone tiles. If the floor is more uneven than that then laying stone tiles would be better done on a waterproofed sand and cement screed.

Thanks, Walter.
I have to say that on reflection, the couple of times I was told to use the self levelling stuff I was putting down vinyl flooring. Quite different to quarry tiles, I guess?
