steel lintel

hi anyone know what size section steel lintel i would need to span 2.6m or of a site that has a calculator for it . needs to suport floor and wall above. thanks

You would get away with 8" 10mm steel rsj but for the price difference i would always go up to 9" anyway if you have the room.
You would need building regs approval and calculations doing anyway.

thanks for the links need planning etc anyway been quoted £150 for the calculations does that sound right??

its not bad for a one off. if you shopped around you might get lucky and save £20-30 :wink:
