We as a community charity workshop have just purchased an old Startrite Inca planer/rebater which I would like to find out a bit more about. It seems to work fine although the blades clearly need sharpening and adjusting but a good strip down, oil greasing etc. is probably in order, perhaps not seen any such maintenance in its life. First off does anyone know the model, as I say it is also a rebater, which I believe is rare. Also getting my hands on a manual would be a good start if anyone could help.
At the back of the machine there is an unknown collection of parts which look to slide back and forth on two rods after releasing a hand knob underneath, does anyone know what that collection of parts is for and finally is this the model that can have an accessory fitted which turns it into a planer thicknesser.
