Hi all, brand new to the forum.

I have Yankee screwdrivers 130 A & B models.
I got the A for 99p but the B cost £22. but they look and feel the same.

Does anyone know why one of them is much more collectable?

Hi Jimi, welcome to the forum.

I could be wrong here but, I believe the 130A model is made by Stanley UK; the 130B is made in Germany (by or for Stanley), probably after Stanley stopped making them in UK. The only difference I know of is the 'A' models use two locking ball bearings, while the 'B' models use a single, slightly larger, locking ball bearing.

Why one is more valuable than the other, I don't know. Maybe because the 'B' model is newer, they're generally in better condition, and therefore get better prices???

I bought a 130A new, around 1973.

Cheers, Vann.

Where were you buying? eBay, dealer, car boot?
