Hey all.

Just snagged a Stanley impact driver and combi drill twin pack from Homebase and am wondering if Stanley make their own impact bits. I bought a Stanley branded set labelled "Torsion" which looked very similar in design to a cheap Craftright set labelled "Impact". Usual design, fluted shaft, etc. Does anyone know if Torsion is deffo Stanley-speak for Impact compatible? As not all the sets were labelled as such.

Thanks

Jon.

Dewalt bits also labeled torsion and look the same.. I think dewalt own Stanley now or maybe the other way around..

Triton bits also look the same but cost less and after using both i cant tell the difference

Stanley Black and Decker, to give them their full name, own's Dewalt. They also own Mac Tools, Porter Cable and Bostitch to name just a few. They also own, or will soon, Irwin and Craftsman.

I knew of the Stanley/Black and Decker/Dewalt connection but was surprised by just how many names I recognized on the list of companies they have.

I wasn't aware until your post that Stanley now own Irwin.
In my opinion it is tragic that these massive companies just trading on brand names are allowed to reduce the quality and still command high prices for inferior items
