An adaption of the old penny farthing.!

farthing does appear to be spelt correctly but incorrectly pronounced!.

I once took a ride down 2 flights of steps unwittingly and unwillingly!

My bike was written off and so, very nearly, was I!

I both admire and tremble at the dexterity of these young people.

Just wish my youth had also been spent doing similar things!

Its a shame the kids ignore the other traditional sports, the tennis courts and other things in our parks are abandoned, yet the bikes and skateboard rinks are overflowing. The injury statistics must be very high on those pasttimes.

Not all parks alike - last Saturday I walked past Leazes Park in Newcastle and all the tennis courts (6+) and basketball courts (3) were occupied.
It's often the same in the other parks which I walk past here. The bowls and croquet greens are often in use as well.

I was into BMX when I was very young, we have a track local to us. But never had the guts for anything but a few jumps.
