Now that is a piece of wood to Drool for. And to think it looks as though the rest of the trunk may have been the same.
 
If these pieces get any bigger the turner will have to crawl inside to hollow it out, or sharpen up the blade on a JCB for a scraper.....don't tell me, someone has already done it :lol:

At the Taunton Wood fair a month ago there was a turner from Bristol who had a couple of voided yew vases that were about 4 feet tall. Wish I'd taken some pictures.

Paul, if I remember well it was a 70 cm long and 50 cm wide piece of very green Ash (cut the week before)
