The tyre on my SIP 14" bandsaw has broken. Does anyone know if the wheel has to be returned to the maker or can any silly person, even me, replace the part?
another recommendation for Ian at tuff saws. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I think he's chepstow/ carleon area.
And his blades last forever
It happened to me as well. I went onto the SIP site and bought replacements. It was a bit of a b****r getting them on considering the state of my hands (arthritis) but anyone can do it.
I would also reckon that if one of your tyres has gone due to wear and tear it would be prudent to replace both. Because the other one will be hanging by a tack waiting for the most inopportune moment to give up the ghost.
I have a SIP bandsaw and have replaced both tyres. Heat them in boiling water before you start, allow them to cool until you can handle and then get on with the job. You might want to practice your expletives before you start.
