After a winter layup in the corner of my workshop I'm spending a bit of time and money on my Sip 01332 table saw.

A casualty of the winter war was one of the tape measures and the other one has started to lift after I through everything at the top on Sunday to return it to gleaming and pristine condition (well more a dull sheen actually).

So today I thought I'd source a couple of metric stick on tapes one left to right and one right to left. Kreg do them http://www.kregtool.com/35-Meter-SelfAdhesive-Measuring-Tape-LR-Reading-Prodview.html as do these guys http://www.buybrandtools.com/acatalog/adhesive_tape_measures.html and of course http://www.axminster.co.uk/ujk-tech...measuring-tape-(3m)-prod888486/#bottomsection and they all look great!!!

but. . . . . . . . . .isn't there always when you think all you need is google a credit card and 10mins. They are 12.7mm and 13mm and 13.5mm wide respectively and the space on the saw (without fouling the fence) is a scant 10mm.

Anybody know of a source of self adhesive tapes that are narrower or could I do a decent enough job of trimming the width of the tape? If so answers on a post card, £15ish plus postage is OK I guess (gulp) but I don't want to spend that amount and ruin them.

All advice graetfully rec'd

When mine needed replacing I got the kreg ones but they wore ridiculously quickly so ended up replacing them with some self adhesive tape measure bought from a haberdashery supplier which have been brilliant and lasted really well.

Sorry but cannot track it down but will keep trying, from memory they were only a couple of pounds too!

Thanks Roger.

I liked the look of the ones from Germany, yellow and seemed from the picture to be very bright (BuyBrandTools) but they are all metal tapes and I think trimming them lengthways would be an issue.

I assume the space for the tapes on your 12in saw is wider than on mine, this is the crux of my problem?

Did you haberdashery supplier give left to right and right to left tape?

Hmmmm, still cannot find the supplier.

The tape was actually only 10mm wide and when I bought them I got two (one as a spare) and yes they were available left to right or right to left.

I will get the spare one out tomorrow and see if it has any references on it

It was designed to be stuck down on quilters tables I think
