Hi folks
Saw this shape on another forum and thought I`d have a go. The wood is Tulipwood.

Looks like you had more success with Tulipwood than I did.

I spent all morning excavating a tulip tree trunk with the intention of making a large vase. Went back after lunch and found the base a mass of splits ... Ho hum.....

Your bowl looks lovely. Very fine.

That's gorgeous, well done! I love the little flicked out rim :)
 
Lovely curve, great figuring. IMHO it would be better without the tenon, but then aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder.
 
Cheers for that Nev,Tulipwood can be a bit drab but I think this piece had some nice detail on which hopefully the wax has brought out!
