The older wixey readout will read minimum thickness with the read head at the bottom (it is designed for benchtop thicknessers)
You will have to fit it upside down a learn to read it.
However I think the new wixey widget has a remote display so no such problems of reading upsidedown.
Each time I've fitted one I've had to knock up some brackets but an easy DIY job for anyone with half an idea.
I fitted a Wixey WR550 (with the remote readout) to my Scheppach PT a few months ago. This did involve adding to the supplied bracket, but works very well.
