That's worrying - we are trying to control the grey interlopers round Aberdeen to protect the reds. Better get a bullet proof vest before going into the woods.......

The folk trapping greys near the city centre got a much nicer surprise last week, when they found a pine marten in one of the traps. How it had got there, noone knows, as the Deeside estates are not keen on any form of predator and the nearest known populations are quite a long way west of here. Sadly, not much chance of there becoming an urban pine marten population to equal the foxes.

We used to have one in the UK too. One shilling (5p) per tail when I was a boy in the 1950's!
