I was asked to take down 2 smaller Sea Buckthorn tree. The trunks are about 15cm in diameter. Is there any good use for them apart from burning.

I've no idea if it's of any use amigo, but I collect samples of tree species so if you were ready to post me a piece I'd be more than happy to cross your palm with silver. Keep the parcel just under 2kg and it'll only cost £2.90 to post.
Martin.

At present the timber is abroad and posting would be prohibitive. Hovever which part would you like that I can ask to put it aside and if I remember in future when I am there again to bring it up.

Sorry for the delay in replying - I couldn't find the post!

OK, thanks for your response, understand the situation.

If a piece of branch or trunk around six inches in diameter, a foot long, could be set aside for me, I would be delighted to receive it some time in the future.

Of course, if 6 by 12 isn't practical, anything close would be just as appreciated.

As I said, I'm building up a library of woods, just my silly little hobby - and this one would be an uncommon one for me.

No rush, obviously - I'll be tremendously grateful whenever!

Thanks,

Martin.
