nothing
looks perfectly good to me wouldn`t do it with a table saw but when you get used to using a machine you know what its going to do and i figure the bandsaw is probably the most user friendly tool in the shop.

It was probably fine for that SM to that, because he was very skilled and knew what he was doing. The problem is that such practices lead other, less well-experience people, like this SM, to try the same thing without realising the dangers and then they come unstuck.
The bandsaw is the only machine on which I have actually nicked my thumb and it was by doing something stupid that lots of other people do regularly.
