What would people recommend as the router best-suited for the Rat?

I have a CMT which I use for hand-held routing at the moment - so I could just stick that on it and get another something or other for hand-held. Or if there are distinct advantages in getting something else for the Rat (greater plunge depth, perhaps?) what are they and which routers fit the bill?

The Rat is currently drilled for a Hitachi M12V, for what that is worth.

Hi Jake

The 'Rat was designed around the DW625 as you probably know. So if you are going to buy a dedicated router for the 'Rat then that is what I'd get (and what I have) since any deficiencies (none that I'm aware of) will have already been identified and addressed with third party add-ons.

You might want to consider getting the magic extension (not the XX...t'other one) since that also fits the DW and addresses loss of plunge depth in some circumstances.

I'll count that as a vote for the CMT, then, cheers Roger.

Stick with the CMT it's the same as the Dewalt. I use the Dewalt and no problems I wouldn't recommend anything else.
