Hi i have just received my router plate insert, can anyone suggest or recommend an appropriate decent template bit set for my 1/4"router please

Don't buy a set - you will not use half of them. Buy individually from Wealdons

Agree sets can be a waste. Review what work you intend to do then buy the cutters you need to perform those tasks. Get a Trend tools catalogue where there are numerous cutters, routers and accessories - more than you will ever need and it is a great reference for your routing requirements.

I cut out the hole for my insert using a Wealden template cutter and it did an excellent job
