Its my 6 year olds favourite museum. Something so awe inspiring about being next to those fabulous examples of engineering.
 
They looked good in the 50's as well to :)

My friends and I used to sit by the tracks and watch them whizz by and often put a coin on the track to be flattened by them as a keepsake. Pastimes like that (train spotting) seemed to be considered less dangerous in those days?

I like the look of it's rival too: the Coronation Scot. I think I prefer it.
I must be sinking into the train spotting 'hobby' ! I'm surprised how early the Diesel units came in. I'm even more surprised how early the electric trains started.
How about a steam train powered by the super efficient rocket stove? London to Glasgow on two twigs and a branch.
