I'm using a SIP 01929 Dust & Chip Collector for my Record BS400 bandsaw. Everything else uses my Trend T30 vac. The SIP is noisy though! Any suggestions for a quieter replacement which isn't too big and doesn't cost a fortune? It's only for the BS nothing else. Cheers! Just thought as I'm writing this, maybe my Trend would do the job..!?

The quietest collectors are those with induction motors. Here is the cheapest SIP one but there are many other makes, models and sizes.

Thanks. Looks a bit big for a small workshop but I've just remembered I need it for my P/T too :) I wonder if there is anything smaller and induction, if not then I'll look at picking up something like this.

I have the SIP01954, which I got a great deal on when CostCo were knocking them out cheap. But, despite the induction motor it does sound like I have a passenger jet getting ready to take off in my workshop when it is running. I was put off buying a 100mm inlet Camvac on reports of noise, but since I bought the SIP I have heard the Camvac (with the baffle hoses fitted) and it is a lot less noisy than the SIP.
