In 2006 aldel posted how to make the above puzzle.
I made it and copied the solution. Whilst clearing out my workshop I came upon the puzzle, took it pieces but now cannot put it back together again. I have found his original post but the photo is not available. I thought I still had the solution. I have found 3 of the six pages of how to make it but the solution is nowhere to be found
Has anyone got the solution as it is driving me out of my mind.

Alan

I have a book of similar puzzles. If you can remember what shape it should be once completed, I can probably look it up and photograph the pages. But the diagrams weren't too easy to follow, IIRC.

PS: The book is American: "Puzzles in Wood" by E.M.Wyatt (2007 reprint from a 1956 original), and I think the actual puzzle is "six piece burr" on p27. It was actually bookmarked when I found the book on the shelf! Reprint's ISBN is: 978-1-56523-348-5 (www.foxchapelpublishing.com) original was Bruce Publishing.

I remember making several of those sorts of puzzle (very crudely) when I was a kid. I don't have them any more, unfortunately, but I can tell you that the plain, un-notched piece is the key that goes in last to lock all the others together.

1st piece out is the plain rectangle

This this one lifts out the right hand side

Then the one with a big notch

That's the one coley. I have now put it back together and as eric says it is easier follow than the original.
Thank you all for your input.
