Why does my IE 11 browser jump around like a loonie, so I can't type until it's settled down? Anyone have this problem?
Firefox is crawling with pop-ups that are uncontrollable, even with Adblock (which I suspect is 'Trojan' program.)
Opera is clumsy, and Chrome is even less intuitive.

That leaves Safari, which is shortly to be un-supported by Windows.

I use FF18 - i turned off the update request. With both adblock plus/ noscript i rarely see pop ups. :)

Afternoon John

Had a look at Sea Monkey?

Adblock Plus and Noscript are optional add-ons.

Cheers

Lots of problems with IE11, but never had an issue on anyone's machine with IE10. Just remove it and you will revert to IE10.

Control panel, programmes and features, installed updates in top left, wait for it to fill up. In search box top right, type 'int' and internet explorer will be left. Highlight and uninstall, agree any boxes and restart. The 'update' then being installed after restart will be IE10 reinstalling. Problem sorted.

On the Mac with Chrome I find that some sites Chrome loses the thread and just sits there forever with the wee beachball spinning. Never have the problem with other browsers.

TBH each browser has it's own quirk(s) and whether or not you find one quirk more annoying than another (aka browser X over browser Y) is a matter of personal preference. I usually have Chrome, Safari and Firefox all open at the same time!

Pete,

I find that Chrome wants to take over everything. More adverts keep popping up. I can never find the home button, and everything else seems to be buried in a sub-menu. Took me three or four minutes the other day to sort out internet options, and then when I got there, there was a whole page of boxes to tick, just to get the browser to open with my start page. And even then there was another 'start' page waiting in the wings. (Speed dial I think it's called.) Just annoying when I KNOW what I want as a home page. I uninstalled!

Plus the fact that Google have ruined the YouTube channels. It's a right dog's breakfast if you have your own channel.

Verb...to Google.

Definition.....to take a perfectly workable and logical user-friendly web interface and screw around with it so as to alienate most users. All in the name of 'improvements'.

I did that Phil.
Now I don't have any IE at all. Which isn't too much of a problem maybe!

I don't believe it is possible to remove IE completely. It should be in start, all programmes, in the list at the top. If so right click it an choose pin to task bar. If not in the list, start, right click computer, open, expand c drive to programmefilesx86, internet explorer, in there right click iexplorer.exe and send to desktop as shortcut, name as internet explorer.
