First grandchild born this morning. Knew it was a girl 'cos she kept her mum waiting in labour for 20 hours

Can't wait until she's old enough to have her own little workbench

Thanks Guys

I've got it sussed I think. I said from the start, "no babysitting until old enought to be in the workshop or take golfing and fishing". Wifie can babysit any time she likes of course

No problem with the buggy Phil - it's cloth so not my department. My car isn't an issue either. Babyseat not allowed 'cos it might damage the leather and anyway that's what the wifes Mini is for!

She is beautiful and my son is besotted already (hasn't worked yet out the downside of 2 women in the house), I'm her only grandfather and of course delighted whilst my wife is in emotional meltdown. It's my mother in laws first great grandchild and at 86 she's likely to have a coronary from the excitement.

I'm quietly thinking what a great opportunity for new aquisitions while the feel good factor lasts - now...what can I buy?

Congratulations on the acquisition of a new excuse for some "specific toy construction tool kit, dear "additions. Think you might need to spend a bit more time in the scroll saw section to supplement your carving.

Hi Chas
I have a scrollsaw tucked away in a cupboard. Only been used a couple of times and it's a cheapie but I guess as you and lanemaux suggest, it will see some use in the near future :)

We're coming over to Canada for 3 weeks in June and really looking forward to our holiday. Looks absolutely spectacular.

Great news Bob, congratulations to you and mam and dad. Next time I'm passing I will look out for the climbing frame in your field!
