Plantation shutters

Does anyone know how to make plantation shutters, or know of anywhere on the net with decent info? google searches just seem to throw up suppliers.

Shultzy, thanks for the reply. Very interesting article, but I need to make the shutters with the moveable louvers.
Sorry I took so long to reply - I was feeding my five month old son and he's teething so it takes forever!!!!

I remember watching the program, he made about 10 different jigs to do it all, be prepared for a long job, I don't know how Norm does it all in 20 mins :lol:

I'm also bought a set of end plastic pins in Rockler I'm remember last year a company in the UK used to sell them but by thousands :shock:

A good wood for the shutters is Balsa or similar because is quite strong a light
