Ordering the saw this morning..

i am already at work and waiting for 9 0 clock to arrive so i can order the saw, i am also going to get the speed increased to 1650 as geoff suggested.

Apparently i only need light pressure to fix the blades in, but i will ask about this later on when it arrives, so hopefully it will be a go straight from the box, unless you know different..

I will need frank (scrollerfrank) back out of the cupboard to sort me out with a foot switch again, as he did with the delta's.. =D>

I assume you are going for the Hegner, if so then it will be straight out of the box and use.

Re-foot switch, I don’t have a foot switch, but if I did, I would not alter the saw in any way.

I would make up a lead, with a plug top on one end, and a second short lead with a 13amp trailing socket on the end, then connect both in either side of the foot switch, then just plug the saw plug top into trailing socket, job done, no modification to the saw.

The Hegner doesn’t have a NVR control, to be concerned about, unless you order the education model, standard models just have a small toggle switch on the side by the motor. :wink:

Ordered the saw but they say they wont increase the speed on it as it invalidates the warrenty, so just have to see how it performs..

should be here tomorrow..

I haven't used my saw for months, been doing other woody things, but I've promised myself I'll get back into it this winter. I think I'll need re-educating.

Steve, you will need some 3 in 1 oil. Where the arms are bolted to the frame you will need to oil the bearings either side of each arm. Just 2 drops is enough at each point every couple of days or so.

Steve pleased to report that the parcel has been dropped off at the collection point.Possibly picked up by now,delivery is 1 to 2 days so I would expect you to receive it by Thursday.Will you please let me know when you receive it.I very much hope that you will be satisfied with you NEW HEGNER I can just about remember how I felt when I picked mine up from the industrial unit in Kent ( I was on holiday at the time) and I am thrilled at the projects that can be achieved with it.
