I am trying to find out what morse taper one of the older blue record CL2 lathes uses on the tailstock. I have the instructions but doesn't state it there. Does anyone know this off hand?

You will need a thread protector to eject drive centres from the headstock. If you haven't got one don't put a drive into the morse taper because the headstock is solid & you can't use a knock out bar.

Lathe received with the 4 prong in place without the thread protector!! Quite some elbow grease to get it out.

The east way to get a centre out if the thread protector isn't fitted is to use your four jaw chuck. Just clamp the jaws tight on the drive centre you are trying to remove and lock the spindle. The chuck gives you something substantial to get hold of to loosen the drive centre! :)
