Lighting knocked my PC dead yesterday, very irritating, I have limited access through my wife's tablet, and am now awaiting the various hoops to jump through for the insurance, I bet it will not be a stress free affair!

It will be a long drawn out process in my experience. Shame you are so faraway I have a "spare" laptop here you could've had in the interim.

Very frustrating, wrong time of year to offset with more time spinning bits of wood.
I had exactly the same problem Thursday night. The lightning blew my graphics card but fortunately I had an old one from a previous computer that I could use. The insurance will cover it but I noticed that the excess on the policy means it is not worth claiming.
Makes me wonder why I bother with insurance at all.
