Hi,
Here is a very simple coffee table I made for ourselves. It is all european oak, 25mm planks with a 32mm top. This is the first table I've made BTW! The only other things I have made are a hi-fi unit and a complete oak kitchen.

sorry there are no WIP pictures but I forgot. The legs are 3 x 3"x1" pieces laminated together. A simple chamfered edge on all except the legs which are square, just the sharp edges sanded off.

There are no joints, just glued and pocket-holed throughout. I did it this way to see whether it will stand the test of time. Next are a nest of tables in Ash with Oak tops to match this.
Drawer handles are from Screwfix. It is finished with 3 coats of danish oil and two coats of Chestnut wood Wax.

Pond, that's very nice. The wife wants me to make one just like yours minus the drawer, if its not too cheeky can I ask how much was the wood?

how is the drawer done- is it a letterbox cut out of the rail, and a piece with complimentary grain for the drawer front?

I didn't do it right! I planed a full length rail, then chopped the drawer section out to make three pieces, rather than cutting the drawer front out of the full length on the bandsaw!
This means I had to fix the top and bottom pieces of the rail back which was not easy and they moved slightly, meaning the drawer runners had to be fixed with the drawer in place to get the gaps equal. It was a pain!
I did it this way so that the grain would remain constant for the drawer front because it is the same piece and also because I only have quite a rough 1/2" blade in my bandsaw and was not confident about finishing the inside edges of the cut-out well enough!

Still undecided about the best way to do this TBH!

Andy
