A person took this picture yesterday, in Shakopee, MN. He and one of his co-workers were driving by and had to circle the block.

It's a guy cutting down a tree in his backyard.

The cops showed up, telling the guy he couldn't do what he was doing.

He told them to go to hell it's his property and his tree.

Ouitrageous - no warning triangle by his parked 'dozer!

Looks stupid and dangerous. However.... if you zoom in, he does appear to be roped to the tree (see the rope dangling by the trunk). The dozer is not going anywhere and is less likely to move than the feet simply planted on the ground. If the upper ladder is roped at the top and the bottom rung is held in a notch in the tree, then although it looks Heath Robinson and dangerous it could actually be relatively safe. Still wouldn't fancy climbing it myself however!

I didn't think the police could enforce that on a private individual in his own garden, no matter how hard he was trying for a Darwin Award :)
