Hi and thank you for allowing me to join this group. My name is Alan, I am 69 and have a small workshop in my garden where I would class myself as a hobbiest and DIY enthusiast.
5 years ago I bought a new Minimax S45. It hasn’t had a great deal of use but in that time I have noticed the blade has become blunt. I ordered 3 new blades of various widths and have fitted one. Tracking was ok in terms of the blade running true on the wheels but I have found that no matter what I do, the blade runs to the right of the slot in the table, to such an extreme that it rubs against the top blade guard. I haven’t run it like this for fear of instantly blunting the new blade!! Can anyone suggest what I should adjust in order to get the blade running true in the centre of the slot. I have attached photos to show what I mean. Thanking you in anticipation of some advice. Alan

Have a read through our thread started by Sideways. If that doesn’t help come back and shout. These are great saws.

Hello Deema. Thanks for the link to Sideways thread on the complete rebuild of a minimax s45. I found it fascinating but way beyond my level of expertise. A very useful thread to refer back to though when I get stuck. For now, I have to say that I could not see or find the reference to shifting the whole blade to the left to make it line up centrally in the table slot. Am I missing something very basic??

First is the blade vertical, if it isn’t this is the most likely cause of the blade rubbing. We describe how to get the blade trued up. If this is not the cause, the top wheel is mounted in a tension unit that is bolted to the chassis. There is a small amount of movement possible with slackening the bolts. Once adjusted you will need to adjust the bottom wheel to make the blade vertical.
