Popped by a local tree surgeon today where I pick some bits up and asked if I like burrs! Yep was my answer...... filled my van with different woods, these were the best bits,

No idea what I'm going to do with it yet, the bigger of the two in the pic is about 30" x 12" and it was free! doesn't come much better.

Found another one today! the joys of working in the sticks, they are more than happy to give you some to turn instead of burning it.......

blister they get worse every day :D
im friendly with a local one but he doesnt cut any down this time of year. i think he only does hedges and similar in the winter.
