Seeing as I managed to stay beer free the whole of February (shortest month  ) I thought I would treat myself. It may be the last for quite a while
I just received some new tools from workshop heaven and I have some more from fine tools tomorrow :D

Today I received a Narex 1/2" mortice chisel, I thought it would prove handy with the upcoming Roubo bench build.

I also bought a bit of glass and 3M film for flatting and secondary bevels. I use the Tormek for grinding the primary and secondary at present and I thought I would give the scary method a go for secondary as I suddenly have a load of stuff to sharpen, flat and fettle. I didn't buy a guide as I had my eye on a Richard Kell no.3 on ebay but forgot and missed it and it went for a song  I may not need one, I shall see how it goes.

Cheers
Andy

Correction - UPS just turned up with the bits from Fine Tools

2 Bessey TG 400 x 100 clamps, I have about 20 of their little LMU clamps for small glue up jobs and was well impressed and was short of something a bit bigger.
Tormek TT50 diamond truing tool, I've sharpened loads of drills and it needs a proper deglaze and true up.
Tormek SE76 square edge jig. I have the older one and although it was OK I wasn't that impressed so that will go on e-bay.
Set of Bormax3 carbide Forstner bits. My previous ones have had loads of abuse but always burned rather than cut a hole even after sharpening but were cheap. I didn't intend to get carbide but they were on offer and the same price as Colt etc.

I feel very naughty now, I will not be buying any more tools for quite a while.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. iNewbie made me aware of a Richard Kell no3 being sold second hand and the temptation was too great

To avoid any discussion about whether such devices are the work of the devil or a gift from heaven (Workshop Heaven?) I'll nip in quick and absolve you now.

Be good!

Well done on the toys. With scary sharp if it is the lapping films rather than the heavier duty finishing films. You need light strokes rather than heavy ones as in diamond/ water/ oil stones. :)

The flesh is weak. :D I have podded out on definitely the last few bits

I bought a RAS on this site but I'm going to sell my old one.

I got sick of having no home for my sharpening gear and angle grinders so I bought a cheap 3 drawer mid tool cab for the jigs and odds and sods, I shall put a bracket on each end for the Tormek and the bench grinder and weld a quick frame out of some 25mm box I already have, stick some castors on that I already have, and the angle grinders will fit underneath on a shelf or cabinet and I'll build something for grinding disk storage. The honing glass plate will sit on the top of the cab with a wooden cover. I've had the design in mind for a while. I shall post the WIP on here when I get going.

The last big thing I bought before cutting up my cards was buy a Creusen bech grinder, I wasn't going to but the two cheapies I had recently died in quick succession.

I have to buy some extraction hose purely for H&S reasons of course but apart from that I am done now, honest, finished.
