New Patriot!

Well now that I've sold my soul to the devil and got my first chuck - a Robert Sorbey Patriot, what would you good beings suggest as my first "chucking"?
Got sucked in and bought loads of blanks too - bowl blanks and square cuts. I just bought it 8 hours ago and can't sleep for thinking about the morrow :shock:

Believe it comes with a screw chuck,doesn't it? If so,it's ideal for making a bowl.
Use the screw chuck to hold what will be the top face,to shape the underneath and make a chucking recess so you can turn it round and mount it on the jaws to hollow and finish the inside.

And yes I did get the screw chuck, so I'm off to it now!

I'd agree with Andrew and make a nice simple bowl for starters.
But i should try and get some kip first :lol:
