New doorstep/plate.

Hi all

I have a new hardwood doorstep/doorplate between the lounge and conservatory. Any ideas on the best way to finish it.

Similar here Gary and I've used oil as as any finish is going to wear and scuff and an oiled finish is easily repaired.
