Very overcomplicated and clearly not made to last.
The claws must be made from proper spring steel and they must be hardened and tempered. He used ordinary soft mild steel.

I prefere a Gränsfors crowbar!

Only works on nails that aren’t flush, my Millars Falls parrots beak is much better.

Alternatively, he could weld the funny vee-claw to a Hi-Lift Jack and do away with the screw thing. - would be just as ineffective.


A quicker way of making the vee-claw bit for his tool would be to cut the end off a old gemmy bar.... Oh sod it!! Just use the gemmy bar as it is.

Or you could set fire to the old posts and pick out the nails from the ashes!

That is exactly how I remove the awkward staples and wire from old stock fencing. Thanks for reminding me that I still have a big pile to burn off.

That is exactly how I remove the awkward staples and wire from old stock fencing. Thanks for reminding me that I still have a big pile to burn off.
