Hi

my table saw started tripping the RCD or earth leakage breaker (I think that's the correct term) every time I try to turn it on.
I've checked the switch and motor connections but cannot
find any damage in the wires. What can I do? Is there a routine test to determine what is causing the fault?

thanks

The standard tests involve using a high voltage leakage tester. Normally known as a 'Megger' in UK after the original maker but I don't know about Portugese equivalents.
I'm assuming that your saw did not used to trigger trip and has just started doing so.
Even if the saw checks out OK, it may be that something else in your wiring is leaking to a certain extent but not enough to trip by itself but then the addition of some extra leakage on the saw gives enough total leakage to trigger the trip.

Oh that rings a few bells Bob, cookers that did that often suffered from that problem and the only solution was to replace most of the elements.
Convincing the customer could be a difficult task.

Try blowing the sawdust out of the motor and controls as a first move cerdeira.
