Hi folks.

Need to move several screws 1/2mm across from their existing location. What's the best product to fill the holes so I can redrill pilot holes only slightly adjacent.

Existing holes are 4mm x 40mm deep if that has any relevance.

The same wood that it’s made from, I split off some wood trim it down to the approximate size dab of glue and hammer it in.

You could drill it out and plug it with the same wood and then redrill if in an area not going to be seen. A lot of the time if you just fill the hole and redrill for such a short distance the drill bit will invariably find the original hole and follow that. I find putting in a proper plusg is much better

I'd drill out to 8 or 10mm and glue in a matching plug. That way you are still screwing into face grain and there is no chance of the drill wandering back into its original position. Using a centre punch like you would with metal helps with that, too.

Sorry, forgot to mention none of this will be seen, so was thinking if it's possible to fill with some kind of strong filler for convenience?
