Been a busy few weeks, but here are some pictures of what I've been up to.
After a visit to Styles and Barnes, it was time to try something other than the usual oak
One purple heart bowl, surprisingly hard wood, managed to break the tenon on the back, but salvaged it , phew.
One zebrano bowl, lovely wood, easy to turn and looks really nice, be getting some more of that I think.
Some a sorted kitchen utensils, made from pen blanks I bought on ebay, got progressively better, once I got a feel for how big the actual handles should be.
Some keychains and misc, just fun easy stuff.
A disaster! Dig in while finishing the back, and damned if I could find the other missing bit or I could have glued it back together
And finally some pens, these have been great fun to make, some of the early ones are a bit on the chunky side, but eventually got the hang of it, have ordered some more, though I think I'm going to have pens coming out of my ears at this rate. I'll have to start offloading them at work to finance this little addiction.
The bowls were finished with cellulose/melamine then polished up on the chestnut buffing system.
Pens were finishing oil and CA.
Cheers!
