The water pump for the pond outside as now given up and the wiring to feed the pump runs underground, put it in around 15 years ago. I dont want to dig up the wiring, getting too old, however could I wire the existing cable to an outside socket and plug the pump into that?

Also there is a ultra violet filter lamp separate, so can I have a double socket?

My brother uses one of THESE by the pond to run his pump and UV system.

Thanks for that one, it looks like the way to go.
Same here DW, or something very similar from Blagdon. They work a treat so no need to wire anything underground. I run the pump, UV and a electronic gizmo thingie to kill blanket weed (which is does, sort of)

Pond is now gin clear btw, so I'm going to bottle it and sell some to Jim at a boot fair  - Rob
